Ways to Give

Beyond the Gala

Supporting the Fisher House Gala does not mean that you have to be present on the night of the event. There are many ways to support our cause. Whether you are looking for more ways to give or if you are unable to attend, there is something for everyone.

Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veterans families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.

These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world.

Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a warm dining room, and an inviting living room.

Since inception, the program has saved military and veterans’ families an estimated $610 million in out of pocket costs for lodging and transportation.

Fisher House Foundation also operates the Hero Miles program, using donated frequent flyer miles to bring family members to the bedside of injured service members as well as the Hotels for Heroes program using donated hotel points to allow family members to stay at hotels near medical centers without charge. The Foundation also manages a grant program that supports other military charities and scholarship funds for military children, spouses, and children of fallen and disabled veterans.

Scholarship Cash Call

Fisher House Foundation, Inc., an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charity, administers the Scholarships for Military Children program. Commissary business partners and others donate to Fisher House Foundation, Inc., which treats each contribution as a “restricted donation.” Fisher House Foundation, in turn, contracts with “Scholarship Managers,” a professional scholarship management firm, to evaluate the applications and select the best qualified as recipients.

Every dollar received is given out as a scholarship grant. Additionally, Fisher House Foundation matches all donations, dollar for dollar, and does not charge for its services, to include the costs of administration and the cost of the scholarship management contract. For this school year, we have raised funds for 16 recipients, and each who will receive a $2,000 scholarship grant.

The 2023 MG Harry Greene Chapter of AUSA Fisher House Gala sponsored scholarships that were awarded to six deserving graduating seniors listed below.
